If you’d like to transfer a domain from one registrar to another, you’ll need to pass through a few safety procedures. One of them is getting a special EPP code from the present registrar – provided that you are the domain registrant, since the code is emailed to the owner's mailbox and no one else can get it. You’ll have to provide this code to the new registrar company, otherwise they won’t be able to begin the domain name transfer. The EPP codes are case-sensitive and may contain numbers or special characters such as dots or commas, which can be easily misentered, so make sure you copy/paste the correct code. As an extra protection measure, the transfer authorization code for a domain may be reset regularly. Some registrars call this code a domain password, an Auth key or a domain secret as well.

EPP Transfer Protection in Hosting

You can get the EPP transfer authentication code for any domain that you have registered with us with only a couple of mouse clicks from the very same Hepsia Control Panel that you’ll use to administer your hosting account. Once you visit the Registered Domains section, you’ll find all your domain names conveniently listed in alphabetical order. In case a certain extension supports transfers between domain name registrars with an EPP transfer code, you’ll notice an EPP button on the right side of the given domain name. If you click that button, the code will be emailed to the email address associated with the Registrant contact for the given domain dame. If you wish, you can modify the contact information, including the email, without needing to leave this section of the Control Panel, in case the currently listed email is not valid any longer.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

In case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with us and you’ve registered a domain name that you would like to transfer, you can get the EPP transfer authorization code extremely easy through the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will administer both your domains and your account. If you go to the Registered Domains section, you’ll notice an EPP button next to your domain names, on the condition that their TLD extensions support transfers between domain registrars with such a code. All codes are emailed automatically by our system to the registrant’s email address to make sure that only the owner of the domain can receive this info. In case the current email is not valid, you can update it with a few mouse clicks without needing to leave this Control Panel section. The update is instantaneous, so you will be able to request the EPP code for the given domain right away.
